The white couch saga actually started in late 2019, but because we didn’t actually receive and live with the couch until 2020 it became a game-changing decor moment for us this year. After what felt like a lifetime of research on what the most comfortable, durable, good-looking white couch would be for our living room, we landed on the Pottery Barn Townsend Square Arm Upholstered Sofa with Reversible Storage Chaise Sectional and oh what an amazing choice it turned out to be. We love this couch SO much that we reviewed it for all you white couch seekers not once but twice to make sure that we really put its comfort and durability to the test and reported back to you guys, and we’re so thrilled that you seem to love it as much as we do! We’ve now lived with this couch for almost a year, and we love it even more now than we did when we got it. In this year of cozying up at home, it’s truly the gift that keeps on giving.

The Best Affordable, Stylish Lighting Finds
We did a lot of updates this year around the house, and a big part of that was swapping out or adding new light fixtures in some of our spaces. Because of that we went down a serious rabbit hole to find the best affordable, stylish, cottage-perfect flush mount ceiling lights and wall sconces for small spaces, and decided to share all of our finds with you guys in case you were in the market for some new small space lighting, too! And it seems you were because so many of the lighting finds we shared were among our most-clicked decor items throughout the year, and for good reason. Swapping or adding some fresh light fixtures is such an easy, affordable, satisfying way to instantly upgrade a space! All of our favorite and most-clicked lighting finds are below:

The Best Comfy-Cozy White Bedding
I really, really love that there was another trend amongst our most-clicked decor items on the blog in addition to lighting because it just proves that you guys are indeed our people. The other trend? Bedding! Bedding is one of my very favorite home decor topics to talk about, and I’ve basically made it my mission in life to make sure that every bedroom in our home has the comfiest, fluffiest, dreamiest bedding, most of which is white. After years of searching and testing, I felt it was only fair to report back on my findings with my fellow white, comfy bedding lovers so you can get right to the good stuff and skip the trial and error! All of our favorite and most-clicked white bedding finds are below:

This was another winner of an affordable find that after living with for a while, I’m even more obsessed with it than I was when it arrived. We grabbed two of these awesome hyacinth headboards on sale on the Home Depot site last year and couldn’t love the look more. It’s one of those decor items that looks so much more expensive in real life than it is, and effortlessly elevates both rooms its in. The tone of the hyacinth is warm and inviting, and the weave is thick and chunky and oh-so-cozy. I also really love the boxed edges. There’s something so sweet and simple about that look that my eye really loves.

When we posted out roundup of our favorite affordable cottage style headboards from around the web, we were delighted to find that you guys love a good patterned, upholstered headboard as much as we do! It’s such an easy way to add instant cottage-cool character to a space, and we were thrilled that you guys loved this “marigold” patterned headboard as much as we did when we saw it. We’re still contemplating ways to integrate it into our next bedroom refresh!
Once I live with something we bring into our home and fall deeper in love with it over time, I secretly start scheming ways to add it to other spaces around the house. Especially if it’s a) comfortable as can be and b) durable. The marriage between form, comfort and fashion/style is my happy place, which is why these amazing oversized Serena & Lily throw pillows are now on the sofa in both our living room and den. I’ve shared them a lot both here on the blog and on Insta because of my love for them, and I was so happy to see that you guys were into them, too! They’re wonderfully neutral so they work in a variety of spaces, the shape and size is perfect for a comfy sofa or a deep, cozy chair and the soft, woven cotton-linen fabric is pure delight!
This adorable little pink teapot was a part of one of my favorite posts of the year, our annual Valentine’s Day decor roundup, and it’s one of those pieces that may be V-Day-inspired, but is perfect for pink and pastel lovers all year round… which certainly fits my design and decor sensibilities. Just another reason I love this time of year – I always capitalize on the abundance of pink, purple and pastel decor that hits the shelves and stock up for the year! And because I loved it so much, it made my heart so happy that you guys seemed to think it was as fun as I did. Pink lovers unite!
These were another adorable item that I discovered when creating our Valentine’s Day decor roundup last year, and endured as a fan favorite throughout the year, much to my delight! These are one of those cottage-perfect kitchen items that aren’t just pretty, they’re super practical, too. I absolutely love a good cotton waffle knit dish towel because they’re super absorbent, durable, wash like a dream and are always so soft. These particular cuties come in the most adorable color combos and a handy dandy cloth bucket so you can roll them up and store them in the cabinet with ease.
