The months of January and February are my very, very favorite time of year. Why? Well sure OK I admit, my birthday was yesterday so February will always give me all of the warm and fuzzies, but really it’s because of another ridiculously fun holiday that I wish would last all year long… Valentine’s Day! This may not be a popular opinion, but I have to admit that Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday for about a thousand reasons, not the least of which is that it’s just so fun, lighthearted and love filled. Whether you’re single and ready to mingle or boo’ed up, love is everywhere and I just can’t get enough! For my entire life, even when I was in fact single as can be, I’ve always looked forward to this time of year when the sweet cards, candy, heart-covered clothing, flowers galore and pink decor would start to hit the shelves. It always feels like the time of year when I’m most in my element – can’t we just live in a heart, pink and candy-covered world?!

Because of that, I always take advantage of the abundance of Valentine’s Day-inspired home decor that all of my favorite home stores release around this time of year, so much of which feels completely appropriate and frankly pretty awesome sitting in my home year round. Sure, some of what you see out there right now is slightly cheesy or overly kitschy and probably not something you’re down with having sit front and center in your kitchen or on your shelf year round, but there are so many tasteful, pretty, pink, flower-covered and heart-clad gems that are subtly feminine and romantic and guaranteed to make you smile when they’re hanging out in your home in any month of the year. So what I’m saying is if you’re into that kind of thing (and I really, really hope you are), just dive right into the magic of it all and capitalize! This is our moment!
And it’s because of my totally unapologetic obsession with all that is this time of year that I had to share the love and round up my very favorite Valentine’s Day-inspired home decor items that are out there right now that also happen to be tasteful and subtle enough to feel totally appropriate and not even a little bit obnoxious (in my humble opinion) in your home all year round. Happy heart-ing, friends!

I love the bistro chair and the vases, they would totally be fine all year long and would add great colour.
I think that my favorite piece would have to be the pink striped hand towel because it is versatile enough to use all year long. I am a huge fan of pink so this roundup was right up my ally!

Hi Maryal,
I inquired about the fabric used on the lounge chairs and you so kindly answered right away informing me that it is Sunbrella lifo stripe indigo from Calico Corners. I looked at the sample on Calico Corner website and the color appears so dark it looks black. In your photo, the color is a much different blue. Maybe it is just the difference in the photographs but I wanted to check with you as I’d hate to order the wrong fabric. Does your fabric look almost a black/ blue? Thanks,
Lana Tanca
