Our new primary bathroom is finally finished after several years of dreaming and scheming with our builder, and I’m so pumped to put it to use, and hopefully inspire you guys with some fresh new bathroom decor ideas, tile ideas, walk-in shower ideas and so much more! As mentioned in our previous post about the design plan for this cozy, classic, dreamy little space, I’ve always had a thing for bathrooms and will forever love a good, criminally long warm shower. That moment of bliss after Emmet goes to bed when I can zen out in my robe in a steamy, warm bathroom and dive into my skincare routine is my version of heaven on Earth. And with all of the cozy details and little luxuries that we included in our new bathroom’s design and that our incredible builder, Hill Farm Design brought to life in here, it’s definitely ready for max relaxation!

Our Bathroom Design Ideas and Bathroom Tile
If you missed our post all about the plan for our new primary bathroom, the general vibe we were hoping to achieve in here was a simple, cozy, classic, neutral and super functional space that included some fun little details along the way. Like that plaid floor tile that Chris was slightly unsure about at first, but that we both absolutely love now that it’s all come to life. It’s one of my favorite tiles we’ve ever used in a bathroom and bonus, it feels so soft on our feet! Pairing it with a really affordable, classic, textured white subway tile made that plaid floor tile a centerpiece of the design in this space and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I also really love the playful penny tile in shower niche in a charming, neutral coordinating color palette. Any time I get to use a cool penny tile in a small spot in a bathroom, I’m thrilled. It’s always such a fun way to spice of an otherwise classic or somewhat neutral space.

The Heated Shower Floor and Bench
Of course, the pièce de résistance of the new bathroom and the detail I was most excited about including is our heated shower bench and shower floor. And now that we’ve been in the space for a couple of months, I can confidently say that it’s as delightful as I’d hoped it would be.
For the skeptics out there, sure the shower is, by default, already going to be a warm and cozy space once that hot water starts flowing, and yes, for a significant chunk of the year it’s hotter than a pepper sprout here in Arizona which would seemingly negate the need for such an indulgence. But whether we’re starting our morning in here or winding down at night, stepping into a shower with an inviting, warm floor and sitting and relaxing during a shower on a nice, cozy heated bench is pure joy! Especially in recent months when the morning and evening temps have been in the 40s here in Phoenix. Bonus, it actually wasn’t an insanely expensive detail to include. I also love that we can control the temperature from an app on our phones and set a schedule so it’s all warmed up and ready for us when we want to head in there.

The White Oak Vanity
Another design element that we knew we wanted to include in the bathroom was a rift white oak vanity. But after searching, we just couldn’t find the perfect, pre-fabricated vanity out there that fit all of our needs. Enter, Hill Farm! Our builder has an incredible carpenter/cabinetmaker on their team that executed our vision so beautifully. The vanity is even prettier than we could have dreamed, and I’m so glad we decided to invest in custom cabinetry that we’ll love forever.
Before we decided to have Hill Farm build our vanity, I found that there are tons of Etsy sellers who will fabricate a custom rift white oak vanity and ship at a (relatively) reasonable price. And the price points are on par with any other custom or even pre-fabricated white oak vanity you’d find. So if that’s what you’re looking for, Etsy is a great resource!
As an aside, I can safely say that I’ve never ever ever worked with a team more creative or capable than Hill Farm. Anytime I brought a wild idea to them, the answer is immediately, “Yep, we can do that!” and I love them for that. So if you’re in Phoenix and have addition or whole home remodel dreams like us, get on their list! I promise it’ll be the best thing you do for your project.

Ok guys, here are all of the sources for the design and decor elements we included in our new bathroom! As always, if you have any questions or can’t find something, feel free to email us here or send us a DM on Insta and we’ll get right back to you!

- Our rift white oak vanity is a custom build from Hill Farm, but if you’re looking for a pre-fabricated oak or oak-look vanity, in addition to all of the amazing options I linked in the Shop Widget above, I also love this one and this one.
