Today is a very, very exciting day for me because I get to talk about two of my favorite things – beautiful shoes and a person/creative who I absolutely adore that’s doing some really cool, impressive things out there in the world. What could be better? This post is actually the first in a three-part series that I recently decided needed three parts instead of just one because beautiful shoes really deserve that kind of attention, don’t they? The answer is yes, friends. Yes they do. Beautiful, comfortable, artfully and expertly crafted footwear is actually one of my favorite subjects on the style front and so for this series, if you haven’t already had the chance to fall in love with them, I’m introducing you to a footwear brand that represents all that I love about beautiful shoes and more, Bird of Flight!
Bird of Flight Studded Moccasin Boot in Black, Levi’s jeans, Zara top
You guys have heard me talk about Bird of Flight’s founder and genius designer, Naomi Reed, and the totally serendipitous way we met before here on the blog – read that post out HERE if you’re up for a really cool story! And since that post a few years ago the kind and insanely talented Naomi has been bu-sy! Specifically, she’s been working her little buns off in the most inspiring way to bring a lifelong dream and creative vision, the Bird of Flight brand, to life. Basically, she’s worked night and day to bless us all with her unique breed of California cool via these lovingly crafted shoes that were made for women who crave effortless style, care about craftsmanship and aren’t willing to sacrifice comfort.
To say that I’m obsessed with every single style the brand has released is an understatement. I feel like these were made for a girl like me! As you guys know I live by the casual-cool style code. Effortless, comfortable, fun and durable are all equally important requirements when I shop. And when it comes to shoes, as my style has evolved, I’m as much focused on quality and comfort a I am style. I want them to be timeless. To be staples in my wardrobe for years, not months. I want them to get better with every wear. Which is why when I got my hands on my first pair of Bird of Flights, it was a complete revelation!
As I’m sure so many of you have noticed, I think sometimes the blogosphere has a tendency to feed the cycle of quantity over quality. We get lost in the constant barrage of fast fashion, product overload and stuff stuff stuff. And while I get why and how that happens, it’s exhausting. And can be a little bit uninspiring. Which is why I love the opportunity to talk about a brand who cares about craftsmanship and wearability as its first priorities. Bird of Flight’s shoes are made in Brazil, a country whose history is rooted in quality shoemaking and whose people care deeply about their craft, their environment, and their community. And exactly why are these shoesies so comfortable? Their uppers and linings are made from insanely soft, vegetable tanned, naturally dyed leathers that only look and feel better with age and wear. How many fast fashion pieces get better the more you wear them? None in my closet!
Awesome, right? So much awesome. And there’s more awesome to come. Over the course of this three-part series, I’ll be styling three different Bird of Flight shoe styles three different ways so you can all see just how versatile and timeless these shoes are. In today’s post I’m wearing the Bird of Flight Studded Moccasin Boot in black and I couldn’t love them more. I’ve already worn them so many different ways – with jeans like I did here, maxi skirts, a mini skirt and tights, a jumpsuit and a midi dress. So many possibilities! After I showed you guys all of the styles Naomi sent on Instagram Stories, so many of you asked where you can buy and you’re in luck! New Bird of Flight styles are landing at Clad & Cloth, Anthropologie and Free People all the time (and even more online retailers in the coming weeks), and you can find more styles to love stocked in stores around the country – check HERE for stores that stock in your state!
You can also check out some of the gorgeous new spring styles that are landing online and in-store soon on Bird of Flight’s website so you know what you have to look forward to! I can already see myself pairing the gorgeous and oh-so-versatile brown leather Finn-Weave slides with every spring outfit in my arsenal, and am completely drooling over the Tamara, Lola, Lacey and Philo! If you want to see more of the brand’s creations and enjoy a constant stream of shoe-spiration, make sure you follow them on Instagram, too! On Insta you can also get a sneak peek of new styles before they’re released and a behind-the-scenes glimpse into their process.
Stay tuned for part two of our Bird of Flight adventure next week, sharing a completely different and equally gorgeous shoe style from their lineup and another casual-cool spring getup to go complete the look! And a shoutout to all my shoe-obsessed friends out there who live by the, “new shoes, new you” mantra. This series is for you!

These are super cute!! I love how cozy they look. I would probably wear them even as a slipper around the house during the winter.
Too cute! Now I want a pair too!
