Though it may seem premature, we’re continuing our plight to inject a little bit of sunshine into your winter-covered lives today by sharing our spring-ready backyard fire pit refresh that’s helping get our patio prepped for some warm-weather entertaining! You may remember that we originally spiffed up this space last summer, overhauling the fire pit area with a little bit of new landscaping and some inviting decor updates that were fun, functional and ultra cozy. And now that spring is right around the corner for us Phoenicians and outdoor entertaining season is almost here, we thought it would be fun to pour a little bit of extra love into this space again!

If you want to check out all of the “before” pics of this space and see how it’s been transformed over the years, make sure you head to that post from last summer. In that post we also outlined all of the major changes we made that set the stage for this little tune-up, so if you’re interested in all of the DIY projects and decor updates that serve as the base for what we did here, go check it out! One difference you may notice between last summer’s pics and the pics today is that the Ruellia or Mexican Petunias that sit in the corner of the space near the gate and the drink setup aren’t in bloom right now, which is a bummer because those pretty purple trumpet-like flowers really make the space, in my opinion. But they’ll be back soon, blooming every morning and falling off every night, and I can’t wait! We transplanted those from the front yard last spring, and they’re thriving in their new home, creating the prettiest little hedge around the firepit that we absolutely love.
So what did this latest refresh entail? Well truth be told nothing life-changing that required a sander, paint sprayer or any major DIY endeavors like most of our makeovers do, which made this little facelift a whole lot less stressful. Less fuss, all fun! This time we just switched out some of the accent tables for these super fun and affordable hourglass side tables with a funky geometric pattern, found some new cottage-cool wicker planters to hang on the wall, switched up some of the woven plant baskets for some new sizes and shapes, grabbed a hyacinth serving tray that we’ve been using to serve basically anything and everything in our house as of late, a few new plants to add some color and a couple of new wood lanterns for extra coziness!
And you can see in the pic below that we also gave another little corner of our back patio near the fire pit a little refresh, too with some pretty new planters that I’ve had my eye on for a long time now from Terrain, a new plant stand and short teak planter stand for the big planter. The old cactus and succulents that sat in that spot had completely outgrown their beat up old planters, so we transplanted those to other spots in the backyard and gave these new planters some fresh green to spiff it all up.
All of the pretty outdoor home decor things are starting to hit the floor at some of our favorite home stores right now, so this little refresh doesn’t even scratch the surface of all of the warm weather, backyard goodness to be had out there. We want it all! Pro tip: If winter’s gettin’ you down and you’re dying for a taste of that warm weather life, just head to the nearest Target, buy $5 shades and a La Croix and pop a squat in a lounge chair in their freshly stocked outdoor living space display area. Bam! I kid I kid. That’s weird. Or is it?! You decide.
Another way to beat the winter blues that doesn’t involve becoming a creepy squatter at your local Target? Scrolling all of the fresh spring outdoor decor we’re absolutely loving right now that we rounded up in the Shop widgets above and below! Because why not get a head start on prepping for the warm weather days ahead, especially since people are outdoor living space crazy and this stuff always sells out so fast, even when there’s still snow on the ground. Hey, can you blame them? They’re manifesting, and I love it.
Also, don’t forget that you can always stop by our Shop page to see all of the home decor we’re loving as of late, in every single season. We update that page basically daily or at the very, very least weekly when we’re super busy, so if you get the urge to see what’s new on the home decor, women’s style or men’s style front, it’s all right there for you ready to shop! We love using the Shop page as a way to sort of bookmark everything we love that we see pop up on our favorite sites each season, and right now there’s a lot of outdoor living space decor in there. Of course we’re always pinning products we love as well, but the Shop page is more easier to navigate on that front.

Love this! We are moving this summer, which means our big backyard is going to be no more. It’s sad indeed! But looking at pretty backyards makes me happy 🙂
That looks really good, perfect color palette for spring! I wish I had this kind of space in my yard but unfortunately I don’t. Living through you right now!
I love everything about this! Your backyard and your photos are beautiful.
This space is amazing! I am so ready for Spring and open lake water. The mint/teal against the white chairs are beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

This is such a cute space! Love the colors!
Love this look. I really want to do this type of fire pit in our backyard. Thanks!
I love what you did! It looks amazing. I don’t currently have a yard space that allows for a fire pit, but my next house (hopefully in the near future) it’s a definite.
I love this!! Makes me dream of the days when I will by another house!
What a beautiful, relaxing garden sanctuary! My husband has been talking about creating a little fire pit area in our backyard. I’m sharing these great ideas with him!
Your backyard is beautiful! I love the white chairs, they look so pretty! I currently don’t have a backyard situation lol! But am looking forward to the day I do!
