I can hardly believe 2019 is over! Where did that year go?! 2019 was a year of transition, flexibility, milestones and so many amazing memories made for our household, but more than anything it felt like the year that this little cottage of ours really started to “grow up” in some really fun ways. We tackled what feels like 1,000 DIY projects and renovation projects in general around here and found new, interesting ways to have fun with and integrate the charming, lived-in, loved-up cottage style we adore so much into our abode, and a huge part of that was being really intentional about carefully curating any decor pieces that came in to our home, and went out.
As always there was a mix of old and new and borrowed and… seafoam! We found tons of new pieces to love after scouring the interwebs at all hours of the night and scored some seriously amazing antiques found on Offer Up or at garage sales that we gave a fun facelift to fit our style. That’s how we do it around here, and you guys seem to be on the same wavelength because you loved a good furniture makeover like this pretty unpick dresser makeover and this airy and natural pickled oak dresser makeover and an easy DIY decor project like these fun wood floating frames, these vintage-inspired fabric pennants and these cutie cute laminated paper placemats as much as you loved checking out the cozy, cottage-inspired new spring, fall and adorable Valentine’s Day decor or that entered our orbit in stores and online this year!
When we reflected on all that’s been updated around the house and all of the home projects we shared with you in 2019, it was so much fun to see what blog posts and home decor pieces that we shared really resonated with you, our beloved readers! It’s such a fun adventure to see what you guys were clicking on, commenting on and buying from the pieces we shared, and we have to say, after taking a peek at what you loved we can safely say that you guys are totally our people! All of the things you loved most, we love most, for so many reasons, which was such a treat to see. Kindred spirits!

Our 10 Most-Clicked Cottage Style Home Decor Finds of 2019 & Why We Love Them, Too!
White Jenny Lind Style Side Table
We have two of these side tables/nightstands in our living room and absolutely love them! Jenny Lind style furniture is a personal favorite and these are just such a cool and not to mention super affordable play on that. They’re perfect as side tables in a living room or nightstands in an adult bedroom, and would be SO cute in a nursery or kids room.

Unfinished Wood Adirondack Chair
After searching and searching for affordable Adirondack chairs we found these gems and simply painted them white! Four of them now sit around our fireplace in the backyard and I’m happy to report that they’ve held up really well over the last two years. They’d be beautiful stained or painted pretty much any color you like. Such an awesome affordable outdoor furniture score!

Kitchen Cart
This is a piece that we don’t personally own in our home, but as soon as we shared it you guys were in love! And understandably so. It’s such a fun, versatile piece that would definitely adds style and extra function to any cozy, cottage-inspired or farmhouse kitchen, but could also be used as an awesome bar cart elsewhere in the home or a craft/wrapping table or something else entirely! Ok now I think we totally need this!
Matte Black Kitchen Faucet
This faucet came into our lives last January when we gave our kitchen a cozy cottage facelift, and I have to say, although I was skeptical, it’s been absolutely amazing! I couldn’t recommend more highly. It has added so much function to our sink, has great pressure and has held up so well with minimal signs of wear and tear. So much value here!

Latte Bowls
We’ve had these latte bowls for many years now and use them for everything from cereal to guac to snack serving when guests come over to egg prep and everything in between. We love them! And every time we share them it seems you do too, which we totally understand. They’re such fun, vintage-inspired gems and we particularly love this cute color. If you have open shelving or glass cabinets like we do, these are the perfect way to add a little bit of color and style to a shelf while also adding lots of everyday function.

Teak Wood Bowls/Planters
Much to our surprise and delight, these were a total hit when we shared them with our cottage-inspired kitchen makeover and we love it! These are technically “planters” but when I saw them I knew they were the perfect thing to house produce in our kitchen. They have such great shape and the teak wood is absolutely beautiful, not to mention super durable. The perfect cozy, rustic touch to any kitchen OR they’d also be beautiful when used as directed as planters – they’re endlessly versatile! Which means you’ll have and love these for years, using them for different purposes throughout years, which we love!

Striped Rug
My love for this rug is absolutely endless. Endless! I’ve had a long-lasting love affair with Dash & Albert rugs in general, but this particular rug that was gifted to us by my sweet in-laws and that we use as a bath mat in our master bathroom is a particular favorite. The faded, pastel color combo is so sweet and perfect and these are the most un-fussy rugs to maintain, which in our household is a huge plus. Such a breeze to clean. I love that you guys love this one as much as we do!

Mint Counter Stool
Simply put, we love the Windsor counter stools that sit at our kitchen counter! They were such a great, affordable purchase that adds such a fun pop of color to our otherwise neutral kitchen space and not only that, but they’re super comfortable and durable. We’ve had these for a few years now and they’ve held up really, really well to a ton of daily use and wear and tear. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an affordable counter stool that comes in a ton of colors to match your home’s vibe!

Plaid Rug
This is the rug we have in our bedroom and not only do we absolutely love the fun black and white plaid that adds the perfect amount of playful, neutral cottage-coziness to the space, but because it’s an indoor/outdoor rug it’s ultra durable for the high-traffic area around our bed. It’s also pretty affordable for a rug of this quality, which was yet another reason we loved it. Naturally, it’s a charming Dash & Albert creation that will probably find its way to several different spaces around our home over the years. Couldn’t recommend more highly!

Wood Floral Dining Chair
This is one of the other most-clicked cottage-inspired home decor items we shared this year that we don’t personally own, but that I love so much it hurts. It’s such a sweet, simple chair and I’m absolutely dying to add these as accent chairs to the ends of our dining table or to our breakfast nook table. The fun, playful floral pattern is so darling as is the color combo, and I also love the shape and natural wood frame. I totally get why you guys loved this chair – it’s charming, cottage perfection and bonus, it’s not insanely expensive!
