Spring is here and I couldn’t be happier about it! This season is just the best, isn’t it? It’s particularly awesome on the home decor and entertaining front, no? Even though our backyard gatherings with family may still be small or even just a table for two, that doesn’t mean we can’t go big with our spring tablescapes, right? Right. It’s just so fun! Backyard entertaining is our jam around our house, especially since the weather in Phoenix, even outside of spring, really lends itself to the indoor outdoor lifestyle. It’s what we’re known for! So to celebrate that, I thought it would be fun to finally bring back a little backyard table decor inspiration after a year of putting all thoughts of entertaining on hold. I know that a lot of you are starting to open your homes up to a select few loved ones again, and with Easter coming up this weekend, I thought this was the perfect time to share a really fun spring tablescape, with Easter table decor ideas shown two ways, to give you guys tons of ideas to work with or put your own spin on this week!

The foundation of this year’s spring tablescapes is really the vintage Carleton Varney “Rosalynn” china set that I inherited from my Grandma Miller’s collection. Actually, this set was a gift my mom gave my Grandma Miller many, many moons ago and since she passed my mom has been taking care of it. Now it’s here in our home and I just love it more than words! It’s beyond beautiful in person and, well, I pretty much love anything Carleton Varney has touched so I’m pretty much in heaven now that I get to use this to set the table this spring. Pink, green and floral patterns of all kinds are a Carleton Varney signature and this set just represents his genius so well, in my opinion.
If you love the “Rosalynn” set as much as I do, you can actually find pretty much all of the pieces you see in the pics on eBay! Shop it below.

If you’re looking for sweet, spring-inspired vintage China like this, not only can you most likely find really beautiful and affordable sets in sweet floral patterns of all kinds at your local antique shop, but you can definitely find them online (especially on eBay and Etsy), too. Here in Phoenix I absolutely LOVE Camelback Antiques for all thinks vintage China. They always have really beautiful sets in there for incredible prices in near perfect condition. Shopping your local antique store is such a great way to score a beautiful, timeless china set on a budget.
For the first tablescape I decided to keep it sweet and simple, adding our woven round water hyacinth chargers, the Rosalynn dinner and salad plates, seagrass napkin rings, my Grandma Loentine’s vintage pink napkins and our green recycled bubble glasses that I still wish I’d gotten more of before they sold out at Terrain. I think originally in my mind this tablescape was meant more for a lunch or dinner, but I think this setup could work just as well for brunch, too now that I’m seeing it again. It’s so versatile, not to mention extremely easy to execute.

For the second setup that I really envisioned for a fun brunch or breakfast table setting I decided to do a cute knot fold with the same vintage pink napkins on top of the Rosalynn dinner plates (such an easy and adorable way to present your napkins, in my opinion), used some really whimsical small green leaf salad plates as saucers under my Rosalynn teacups, brought out my pretty pink vintage Franciscan “Desert Rose” salt and pepper shakers, included a couple more woven accents with the water hyacinth vase and ice bucket (I actually inserted a plastic bowl inside this woven bowl for my ice bucket, which is a fun little trick for including a prettier ice bucket on your tabletop!) and kicked the pink spring floral love up another notch with this cute hand-painted Franciscan “Desert Rose” stemware that would be perfect for Easter mimosas. I really love the entire vintage Franciscan “Desert Rose” line, and it’s another set that would be so beautiful and timeless if you collected it. Again, you can score pretty much all of the Franciscan “Desert Rose” pieces on eBay!

I hope this inspired you guys to set the table this spring , even if it’s just for you and your boo. The party’s never too small to have a little tabletop fun and it’s a great way to give your mood a boost by taking your meal outside and enjoying the warm weather that comes with spring! Happy spring-ing, friends!
