‘Tis the season, friends! Just as a preface to this post, I completely respect and know that you guys probably live in one of two holiday decorating camps – the “holidays start November 1st” camp and the “not until Thanksgiving” camp. It’s the great heated (and completely hilarious) holiday debate! Nevertheless, in our house where we land on this topic totally depends on the year, my mood and what we have happening in our lives (and here on the blog), but this year I’ve admittedly been in the November 1st camp. Bring on all the holiday! That said, I’ve had a minute to both head out there and see the holiday decor offerings in-store and peruse the offerings online, and I have to say I’m just all around loving holiday home decor this year! More than that I think I’ve finally figured out my holiday home decor “style”. I love that every home I step in throughout the holidays has its own signature holiday decor style and vibe, and it’s so much fun to see how my friends, family and you guys dress your abodes to celebrate the season!
I didn’t really decorate for the holidays until my first Christmas with Chris 5 years ago, and ever since we’ve been navigating the waters of holiday home decor and curating our own holiday decor collection, like my mom and my grandma did over a period of decades, and this year I think I’ve come to the realization that I love a little colorful quirk as much as I love cozy, natural textures and simplicity. So let’s just call it “Charming Country Cottage” shall we? That feels right. A slightly pastel palette, a little bit of Scandinavian quirk and cozy, snuggled-up country cottage textures and materials all the way. I love mixing in cozy, natural materials like wood, seagrass and wool with fun, funky patterns and a cheery color palette that includes some of the traditional red and green alongside pastel pinks, mint and even lavender. Charm city!
So if you guys love country cottage charm all year round as much as I do and are looking for a few fun pieces to add to your holiday decor collection this year, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite charming country cottage holiday decor pieces from around the web below! I also love that any of these pieces could serve as fun little gifts for those special people in your life, especially these personalized ornaments and these charming dessert plates, cutie cute coordinating mugs and this fun gingerbread house doormat.
